James Eric Davenport, 48, of Old Said Road in McCracken County faces charges of trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Drug detectives conducted a traffic stop on a 2019 Ford F150 on April 29 around 2 p.m.
Detectives knew that Miller did not have a driver’s license. The truck was stopped on Homewood Avenue in the Farley area of McCracken County.
A Sheriff’s Office K-9 alerted to the odor of illegal drugs coming from the truck.
Detectives found a safe that was concealed underneath the truck. They say the safe contained more than 700 grams of crystal methamphetamine.
Miller was arrested.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for a home at 1200 Old Said Road. Detectives seized small quantities of methamphetamine, marijuana, assorted drug paraphernalia and money believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales.
They arrested 48-year-old James “Eric” Davenport in connection with the drugs at the home.
Robert Miller was on felony parole at the time of his arrest for robbery.
Both men were taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and Paducah Police Department assisted the sheriff’s office with the investigation.
