2 from West Frankfort face theft, identity theft charges

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – Two people from West Frankfort theft and identity theft charges after Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a burglary/theft report.
On June 16, deputies responded to a burglary/theft report that occurred at a garage in rural Franklin County.
Numerous tools and miscellaneous other items were taken.
Deputies developed suspects in the theft. On June 21, a search warrant was obtained by deputies for a home in West Frankfort.
After deputies executed the search warrant, numerous items from the theft were recovered, according to Franklin County Sheriff Kyle Bacon.
Samuel L. Sweet, 29, and Jayma M. Rich, 42, both of West Frankfort were found in the home.
Both were arrested and face charges of theft and identity theft.
Sweet was taken to the Franklin County Jail. His bond is set at $40,000.
Rich’s bond was set at $20,000 and has been posted.
