2 killed, 2 injured in crash in Cape Girardeau County

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – Two people were killed in a crash early Sunday morning in Cape Girardeau County.

The crash happened one mile north of Cape Girardeau on Cypress Road at County Road 621 around 5:21 a.m.

A 2012 Jeep Wrangler driven by Nicholas C. Cauble, 20, of Cape Girardeau failed to stop at a stop sign on Cypress Road at the intersection of County Road 621. The vehicle ran off the right side of the road and overturned in a creek bed.

Benjamin L. Asher, 20, and Nicholas C. Cauble, 20, both of Cape Girardeau were pronounced dead at the scene by Cape Girardeau County Coroner Wavis Jordan.

Keagen S. Winkler, 20, of Cape Girardeau was a passenger and sustained moderate injuries.

Stephen C. Langston, 20, of Cape Girardeau was also a passenger and sustained minor injuries.
