2 men arrested after Cape Girardeau police try to stop a vehicle for traffic violation

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Two men face charges after a Cape Girardeau police patrolman tried to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation.

Patrolman Lewis tried to pull over on Sunday, May 28 around 12:30 a.m.

The driver did not stop. Patrolman Lewis chased the vehicle for a couple of blocks before it came to a stop n the 0-100 block of N. Lorimier.

Once the vehicle came to a stop, those in the vehicle left and ran away.

Cpl. Vezeau was in the area and and was arrested Kamarion Dorsey, 26, from Elmira, New York. Dorsey was later charged through the Cape Girardeau County Prosecutors Office with a Class E felony of resisting a lawful stop.

Ptlm. Lewis arrested Eric Dorsey, 42, from Champaign, Ill.

After Ptlm. Lewis arrested Dorsey, Ptlm. Lewis saw a firearm laying near Dorsey that was reported stolen from Illinois.

Dorsey has prior felony convictions that prevent him from possessing or owning any firearms. He was later charged through the Cape Girardeau County Prosecutors Office for Class A misdemeanor of resisting, Class D felony of unlawful possession of a firearm, and Class D felony of receiving stolen property.
