2 men charged in connection with Williamson County homicide

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — Two men have been charged with first-degree homicide in connection with the shooting death of Richard Frank John Hernandez.

Anthony R. Henderson and Wyatt P. Holland were charged on July 9, according to Williamson County State’s Attorney Ted Hampson.

Hernandez’s body was found June 30 in an abandoned residence in the 8000 block of Chittyville Road. An autopsy revealed he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The investigation also uncovered evidence of armed robbery and unlawful restraint. Henderson and Holland were initially taken into custody on July 3 for armed robbery in an unrelated case.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office credited the collaboration of multiple agencies, including the Illinois State Police and the Herrin Police Department, for their assistance in the investigation.
