2 teens face charges after auto burglary in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – Two teenagers face charges after Carbondale police were called to an auto burglary in progress.
Carbondale police officers responded to a parking lot in the 900 block of East Park Street at 11:18 p.m. on June 2 after a report of a possible auto burglary in progress by a group of several juveniles.
The suspects left the area but officers located and arrested a 15-year-old boy for burglary to a motor vehicle and resisting a peace officer, and a 16-year-old boy for burglary to a motor vehicle and criminal trespass to a vehicle.
Police say both juveniles are from Carbondale and were released to their families after conferring with the Jackson County States Attorney’s Office.
