3 charged after forgery after fraud investigation in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Three people face charges after Cape Girardeau police investigated a possible fraud.
On Thursday June 15, at about 11:15 a.m. Cape Girardeau police officers responded to the 200 block of S. Mount Auburn for a report of a possible fraud.
The suspects had already left the initial location. While officers were investigating, they were notified that the suspects were possibly at another location trying to commit fraud.
Officers responded to the second location in the 0-100 block of S. Mount Auburn and made contact with one of the suspects.
Jacob Morrison, 29, from Cape Girardeau faces charges two counts of Class D felony of forgery and a count of Class D felony of possession of a controlled substance.
Officers conducted a license check of the suspected vehicle utilizing the “FLOCK” camera system around 11:20 a.m.
Karree Banks, 26, of Jonesboro, Georgia is charged with two counts of Class D felony of forgery and Class E felony of resisting arrest.
Zichia Gross, 21, from Madison, Wisconsin is charged with two counts of Class D felony of forgery.
An officer found the suspect vehicle in the 100 block of Cape West Parkway with three other suspects inside.
As the officer approached the vehicle, one of the suspects, Karree Banks, 26, from Jonesboro, Georgia, left the vehicle and ran from the officer.
The two other people in the vehicle were detained.
The driver is identified as Zichia Gross, 21, from Madison, Wisconsin.
The passenger in the vehicle was later released.
After a short foot chase, officers were able to find Banks arrest him.
