3 face charges after sheriff’s deputies respond to multiple shots fired in Pittsburg, IL

PITTSBURG, Ill. (KBSI) – Three people faces charges after Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to multiple calls of gunshots in Pittsburg, Illinois.
At 8:56 a.m. on September 23, Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of 500 W. Colp Street in Pittsburg.
Deputies spoke to neighbors who told them that Jonathan M. Tolbert had fired a handgun during an argument.
Investigators say the disturbance began as one resident, Johnathan A. Ross, approached neighbors claiming they were “spying” on his house.
While neighbors spoke to Ross another resident, Nita L. Tolbert, approached and threatened physical harm against a pregnant woman, according to the sheriff’s office.
The neighbors Jonathan Tolbert, Johnathan Ross, and Nita Tolbert to leave their property.
A physical fight happened and ended when Jonathan Tolbert took out a firearm from his waistband and fired a shot, according to the sheriff’s office.
No one was struck by gunfire. All parties refused medical attention for minor scratches and a bleeding lip.
Investigators recovered a 9mm casing which was photographed and collected as evidence.
Jonathan M. Tolbert faces charges of reckless discharge of a firearm and mob action.
Nita L. Tolbert faces charges of mob action, obstructing justice and assault.
Johnathan L. Ross faces charges of mob action and battery.
All three were taken to the Williamson County Jail.
