3 face drug, firearms charges in Williamson County

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – Three people face drug and firearms charges in Williamson County.

On June 27, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a multi-jurisdictional parole compliance operation.

The purpose of the operation was to ensure that those paroled from custody maintain compliance with the terms of their release and do not re-offend.

Three people were arrested after Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies say they either violated the terms of their parole and/or probable cause was established to arrest them on additional charges.

Michael A. Carver faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession drug paraphernalia and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

Carver was discovered to be in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and ammunition, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

Jody L. Price was discovered to be in possession of methamphetamine, a firearm with a defaced serial number, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, and ammunition, according to the sheriff’s office.

Prices faces charges of felon possession of firearm, methamphetamine delivery 5-15 grams, possession of methamphetamine 5-15 grams, possession of controlled substance, possession of firearm ammunition, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of firearm with defaced serial number and possession of controlled substance.

Samantha Brooks was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, a firearm with a defaced serial number, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and ammunition, according to the sheriff’s office.

Brooks faces charges of felon possession of firearm, methamphetamine delivery 5-15 grams, possession of methamphetamine 5-15 grams, possession of controlled substance, possession of firearm ammunition, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of firearm with defaced serial number amd possession of controlled substance.

“Those released from prison who choose to advance their lives by leading productive, rehabilitative, and crime free futures are the success stories we strive to achieve,” said Williamson County Sheriff Jeff Diederick. “In furtherance of this goal, the law enforcement community of Williamson County is unified in ensuring these individuals meet their obligations.”

Carver, Price, and Brooks were taken to the Williamson County Jail.
