3 Injured in head-on collision on Dick Castleman bypass in Mayfield

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — A two-vehicle collision on the Dick Castleman Bypass on Monday at 12 p.m. sent three people to the hospital.

According to Mayfield police, Jerry Groves, 33, of Paducah, lost control of his Chevrolet sedan while traveling north and veered into the southbound lane, striking a Winnebago RV head-on.

The RV’s occupants, Kevin Davisson, 66, and Nancy Davisson, 69, of Machesney Park, Illinois, were taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Groves was flown to Skyline Medical Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, with serious injuries.

The Mayfield Police Department was assisted at the scene by Mayfield EMS, Air Evac 108, the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, the Kentucky Department of Transportation, and wrecker services.
