CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The 3rd Annual LemonDrop Long Drive raised more than $53,000 for local cancer patients and their families.
The event is put on by the newly formed Walks Foundation. It raised $41,482.19 or more than $53,000, including gifts-in-kind.
It was held at the TeeHouse Complex in Cape Girardeau on April 1.
“We are so thankful for the generosity and support of our community giving back and raising awareness of Testicular Cancer for boys, men, and families,” said founder and Executive Director Nate Gautier.
The LDLD had a total of 36 sponsors: 33 local and three at the national level, including Toptracer.
There were three competitions held across the United States in 2023.
- Paris, TX (Pine Ridge Golf Course)
- Mesa, AZ (Dobson Ranch Golf Course)
- Cape Girardeau, MO (The TeeHouse Complex)
“It’s the Walks Foundation’s honor and privilege to give back to cancer patients and their families by meeting people where they are and walking with them through life,” said Gautier. “Our team is so excited to see our mission spreading to other communities across the country.”
The Walks Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on raising awareness of testicular cancer for boys, men, and families, specifically on the importance of monthly self-exams and early detection.
