SIKESTON, Mo. (KBSI)- The 79th Cotton Carnival Parade is where people are gearing up and getting ready for some excitement.

Two senior Kelly High School marchers spoke on the importance parades have for the community.

Ariana Norman says, “It brings entertainment to people like it gives a lot of enjoyment, it’s good to see people like smile and love music as much as we do.”

Shelby Boyle adds, “Plus, I love hearing all the positive reinforcement from everyone we go by.”

The parade was filled with law enforcement and emergency service departments, along with several political campaigns.
Brandi White is the Commander for Missouri EMS and says it’s important for emergency personnel to show up for the community, “We try to get out here to get our name out, and try to get everyone EMS to understand what we’re here for.”
And one popular face was excited to get the parade rolling…

Southeast Missouri, ‘Spiderman’ from NEXT LEVEL Cosplay LLC says, “Glad to be here and support our community I just think it’s going to be a lot of fun.”
