CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Travis Manion Foundation (TMF), a leading national veteran service organization, will host the 9/11 Heroes Run in Cape Girardeau on Saturday, Sept. 13, as part of its annual nationwide race series.
Presented nationally by USAA, the 9/11 Heroes Run honors the lives lost in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, as well as the veterans, service members, and first responders who have served since.
Now in its 18th year, the event brings together runners, walkers, and ruckers of all ages in more than 100 locations worldwide. Each race is intended not only to remember the fallen, but also to inspire service, unity, and leadership in communities across the globe.
The Cape Girardeau run will begin at 8 a.m. at Lynwood Baptist Church, 2935 Lynwood Hills Drive.
“More than a race, the 9/11 Heroes Run is a call to honor courage and sacrifice while carrying forward the values of character and service that define our nation’s heroes,” TMF organizers said.
