911 dispatchers receive award for quick thinking
SCOTT CITY, Mo. (KBSI) – If you’re a 911 dispatcher, you need to be cool in the face of pressure.
In fact many 911 dispatchers have soothing voices and remain calm even though the person on the other line is experiencing the worst day of their life…
But what if the person on the other side of the phone was their co-worker and friend?
That’s what happened to two Scott City 911 dispatchers.
Brittany Uksas and Cindy Dirden were presented with a Missouri APCO Teammates in Action award for their outstanding contributions with a medical emergency call of their coworker.
Their quick thinking and training got responders in to help their colleague in record time.
Thanks to them, she got the care she needed.
