A home away from home for musicians: The Underberg House Concerts

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI)- The Underberg House Concerts are a unique experience.

Larry and Jean Underberg open their home to bands and musicians, providing a place to stay while sharing their passion for music.

“Coming into someone’s home is an honor. We must be on our best behavior.”

Bex Marshall, a UK native and blues artist, stopped in Cape Girardeau to perform at the Underberg House Concerts.

Jean and Larry Underberg host free concerts in their living room, connecting music lovers with artists worldwide.

“We love music and the people who come through. It’s a unique opportunity to bring new acts to town.”

The couple has showcased up to 15 concerts annually since 2000, hosting talented individuals and bands.

“It’s our way of giving back to musicians, providing a place to stay.” Marshall says, “It makes it all worthwhile.”

Kelli Baker, is a Blues Artist, she says, “Larry and Jean’s hospitality is priceless…a second home.”
