A woman is in custody after allegedly breaking a window and stealing a dog

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) -A woman was arrested after being spotted breaking into a home and stealing a dog.
According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office on November 11, 2024, they responded to the 1400 block of Greenbriar Road in reference to criminal damage and property complaint.
After arriving deputies spoke with the resident of the home that was allegedly damaged that stated she saw Andrea J. King inside her home when she arrived him.
The resident stated that King had broken her window and stolen her dog.
Inside Deputies noted seeing broken glass and two broken lamps on the floor. The window had been broken out with a lawn decoration that was thrown thru the window and was lying broken inside the residence.
Deputies also noticed damage to the window and other personal effects estimated by the resident to be $3,320.00 in damage.
King is currently the subject of pre-trial release conditions that prohibit her from being at the residence and she has previously been trespassed from the property.
Deputies located King, with the dog, walking eastbound on Herrin Road and she stated she broke the window to get the dog.
A WCSO K9 unit provided the dog transportation back to the residence where it was united with its owner.
King was arrested and cited for the following:
Residential Burglary
Criminal Damage to Property
Violation of Pre-trial Release
Criminal Trespass to Residence
King was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
