When it comes to getting sick, Amelia is less worried about herself and more worried about others.
“I’m not too worried about getting sick,” she said. “I’m worried about some of my friends who have vulnerable immune systems and lung issues. I’m worried about them getting sick and I just hope that everyone takes precautions and just kind of keeps everything in mind.”
Kate is concerned about illness spreading in schools.
“Since there are a lot of children at one place, this might be something that could be super-spread and may need to have like a day off for cleaning,” she said. “I know at my old high school, whenever I was there, we had to take a day or two off school due to so many students getting sick.”
Dr. Patty Swiney based out of Paris, Kentucky reminds people of ways to prevent illness.
“What we’ve always said is, wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands,” she said.
Don’t cover your cough with your hand – cough into your elbow so you don’t spread germs.
“The other thing is, I’m a firm believer in vitamin C, vitamin D, to take those to prevent the illnesses. And if you feel sick, don’t go around people – just stay home,” she said.
