Agencies respond to brush fire along I-57 near Stiritz

STIRITZ, Ill., (KBSI) — UPDATE: The brush fire is now being contained.

Multiple fire departments are battling a rapidly spreading brush fire along Interstate 57 south of Stiritz, Williamson County Fire Protection District officials said Wednesday.

The fire has extended into a nearby tree line, and additional fire agencies have been requested to assist.
