Alcohol and fireworks don’t mix!

ILLINOIS (KBSI) – The Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC) urges drinking celebrants to drink in moderation, know their limits, and remember that alcohol and personal use fireworks are a dangerous combination.
The office of Illinois State Fire Marshall reported that 120 people in Illinois were injured by fireworks last year.
The ILCC suggests that anyone wishing to enjoy a firework display this holiday weekend check their local municipality’s website for more information on professional firework displays near them.
“All fireworks are dangerous and can cause injuries, no matter the size. The danger resulting from mixing fireworks and alcohol significantly increases the probability of injury,” said the Illinois Liquor Control Commission’s Chief of Enforcement Noel Sanchez. “The ILCC encourages the public to not light prohibited fireworks and to never use fireworks while drinking.”
The ILCC urges all those celebrating with alcohol this Fourth of July weekend to celebrate safely and responsibly.
