Alexander, Pulaski counties launch joint sandbagging effort

PULASKI, Ill., (KBSI) – In preparation for potential flooding, a joint cooperative effort between Alexander County and Pulaski County is underway to fill sandbags.

The initiative involves multiple municipalities and organizations, including:

Pulaski County ESDA and Highway Department
Alexander County EMA and Highway Department
Cities of Mound City, Mounds, and Cairo
Southern 7 Health
American Red Cross
Illinois Emergency Management Agency
Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT)
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
Wilburn Trucking and Dozer Service
Shawnee College Highway Construction Careers Training Program

The proactive effort aims to ensure preparedness in case of an emergency.
