All lanes of I-24 open in Marshall Co., KY after crash near 28 MM

The interstate was blocked until early morning on Aug. 26.

MARSHALL CO., Ky. (KBSI) – All lanes of Interstate 24 are back open near the 28 mile marker after a multi-vehicle crash that included a semi tanker truck.

Four passenger vehicles were also involved, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Kentucky State Police conducted a crash reconstruction investigation. The remaining light oil in the tanker had to be pumped off.

Traffic near the crash site was gridlocked, especially along U.S. 62 which serves at the immediate detour for this location.
