Were pleased to announce an Amazon facility called the Last Mile Facility coming to Scott City. This has been a project weve been working on for about 6 months now.”

The Last Mile Amazon facility will be the first in the Southeast Missouri region and allow people in surrounding areas to get their amazon packages quicker.

A facility that will be the last mile and packages getting delivered to doorsteps and their hope is to get packages to doorsteps quicker and in small rural communities faster.”

The facility will bring new jobs to the area with potential for more job growth in the future.

Shad burner CEO of SEMO Redi, a development company that partners with surrounding areas to bring economic development activity to Southeast Missouri.

Burner says this facility will impact the whole region.

We are really fortunate to have a company like amazon coming into Southeast Missouri” says Burner. A company with 70 new jobs. It’s just a big thing for the region.

Construction has already begun at the new facility and is estimated to be done by the end of 2025.

According to Whitworth this is the first of many new economic opportunities for Scott City.

For quite some time now we’ve been working on a 380-acre track in the northern part of Scott city. Gregg Erb and Carrie Roider is partnering with the city of Scott City to make this economic development area. And through this process the infrastructure is half complete. We’ll be finished in 2025, and this is the first peace of that industry park that were developing.”

Burner saying the location is what made Scott City the perfect spot for this partnership.

Amazon is really strategic about their growth, and I think this location is perfectly situated right along interstate 55 with great transportation access across from the Cape Girardeau regional airport to get goods out quickly throughout the whole region and mainly add a faster delivery time for them, which I think we’re all happy about. To get our amazon packages a little bit quicker will be a good thing for Southeast Missouri.”

The new facility will be located at 250 Semo Industrial Park Drive in Scott City.
