Amendment 3 on the ballot for the 2024 election

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Amendment 3 is the talk of Missouri recently. If passed the amendment would legalize abortion in Missouri.

Last week, a state county judge said the amendment is not legal.

Tuesday, the Missouri Supreme Court makes their decision on whether or not amendment three will be on the November ballot.

“The question is whether the court is going to honor the will of the people the right to reservation of that power. Or whether we are going to allow a small group of people to take that power.”

The court had to answer before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10 on if Amendment 3 will be on the ballot.

“The court will send a message today. The government will honor the will of the people or whether we’ll have it stashed away.”

Mary Catherine Martin is a respondent for the state of Missouri. She says that the state of Missouri deserves a right to be informed about their votes to be heard.

“The state of Missouri’s voters require them to be fully informed in order to properly exercise their rights,” said Martin.

Joshua Divine, the Missouri Secretary of State, finds that the decision is odd.

“What’s weird is that their decision yesterday is not before the courts because the interviewers did not amend their pleadings or do anything like that to challenge the secretaries’ actions,” said Divine.

The Missouri Supreme Court now decides that Amendment 3 will be on the November 2024 ballot.
