Ameren Illinois restores power to more than 25,000 customers after severe storms

ILLINOIS (KBSI) — Ameren Illinois crews have restored power to more than 25,000 customers following severe storms that moved through the region Thursday.

The utility said crews have been working around the clock to repair damage and restore service following multiple rounds of severe weather.

More than 650 resources are involved in the restoration effort, including lineworkers, tree crews, damage assessors and mutual aid crews from Georgia and Tennessee.

Ameren Illinois said the additional crews are helping rebuild damaged infrastructure and restore service as safely and quickly as possible.

Customers still without power can check Ameren’s outage map for the latest restoration information.
