Ameren Missouri files rate increase with Missouri Public Service Commission-public input wanted

MISSOURI(KBSI) – The Missouri Public Service Commission has set public hearing dates to discuss changes for electric rates that would affect every Ameren customer in the state.
According to The Missouri Public Service Commission local public hearings are scheduled starting on Jan. 21, 2025, to receive customer comments in an electric
rate case filed by the Union Electric Company d/b/a Ameren Missouri.
There will be in person and virtual local public hearings.
Ameren Missouri has filed a rate increase request with the Public Service Commision.
The requested increase would total approximately $446 million for an approximate increase of 15.49%.
For the average residential customer, the proposed increase would be approximately 15.77% or $17.45 per month.
Ameren Missouri provides service to around 1.2 million electric customers in Missouri.
The Commission has scheduled seven local public hearings. Any person may participate at any of the hearings but are encouraged to attend the hearing corresponding to the location nearest to their service area for the most relevant information.
All comments are welcome and in order to give all citizen’s adequate time to participate comment times may have a time limit.
Hearing times and locations are listed below:
- Jan. 21—Cape Girardeau. Osage Centre, Room 1AB, 1625 N. Kingshighway.
