American Red Cross financial assistance application open for May storm victims

SOUTHEAST MISSOURI, (KBSI) – Starting May 30, 2025 the American Red Cross will begin providing financial assistance to those affected by May 2025 storms.

Micheal Sullivan is the Executive Director for the Southeast Missouri/Northeast Arkansas region of the American Red cross. He shares more on who and what the assistance helps.

“So, families or individuals who received major structural damage or their home was destroyed because of the tornado they can call 1-800- REDCROSS or they can visit our website at redcross.org/get help and start that process to see if they qualify for the assistance” says Sullivan.

Sullivan shares that the focus of the funding is to provide relief to those who have been through a natural disaster in any way they need.

“Of course, the mission is to alleviate human suffering so we want to be there during those initial days after a disaster to help begin that recovery process” says Sullivan “and so this financial assistance is used to help cover clothes you may have lost replenish some food, maybe get a few more nights in a hotel stay.”
