American Red Cross seeks local disaster response volunteers, hosts training session
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The American Red Cross of Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas is seeking local disaster response volunteers and will host a training session on March 8.
The Disaster Action Team training will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Red Cross chapter office, 20 S. Mount Auburn Rd.
As members of the Disaster Action Team, volunteers will be the first Red Cross contacts on the scene of a disaster, providing comfort and assistance to those affected.
The team responds to disasters such as home fires, floods and tornadoes.
The training is open to anyone interested in volunteering with the Red Cross. Lunch will be provided.
