American Red Cross to close Perryville shelter today
PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — The American Red Cross will close its Perryville shelter at 5 p.m. today, after providing temporary housing for residents affected by power outages and cold temperatures following a winter storm.
The shelter, located at the Perry County Senior Citizen Center, was opened Jan. 6 by the Perry County Emergency Management Agency, with the Red Cross taking over operations on Jan. 8.
Although the shelter is closing, several warming centers remain open in the community. Residents can contact local organizations and agencies for locations.
