CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The Cape Girardeau Fire Department rescued a male who jumped into the Mississippi River near the Themis and Water Street floodgate Saturday morning.

The man was rescued in the river while clinging on a log headed down stream on August 24.

He was pulled from the river underneath the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge.

This is the second water rescue in the exact same area of the Mississippi River in two days.
