Anti-abduction seminar will be taking place in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU Mo (KBSI) – An anti-abduction seminar will be taking place on September 3o at the Emerald Street Church of God.

Martial Arts Instructor Doug Johnson will be teaching self defense lessons.

Johnson says, “I try to teach them what are realistic issues that I can assist them with. So what I train them to do is some techniques where you can delay, teach them how to bring attention to themselves, what to watch out for, some of the things that perpetrators use.”

The lessons will involve three styles of martial arts, which are; taekwondo, judo, and hopkido.

The instructor will be incorporating his martial arts and psychological training by educating children on scenarios that could possibly happen.

The one hour course will be free to the public.
