Apartment complex fire in McLeansboro, IL

MCLEANSBORO, IL (KBSI) – The McLeansboro Fire Department was dispatched to an apartment complex on West Meadow Acres Dr. for a report of a kitchen fire on Sept. 12. Initial reports say elderly residents were still inside the apartment.

When fire crews arrived on the scene everyone was evacuated from the building. Crews put out heavy smoke and fire in one apartment. There was smoke damage to other parts of the building. Fire crews also searched the building and all residents were accounted for. The American Red Cross and 14 agencies helped the McLeansboro Fire Department with the fire.
