SESSER, Ill., (KBSI) — Interstate 57 has reopened after a semi-truck hauling applesauce overturned Monday morning in Franklin County, spilling thousands of pounds of the product across the roadway.
Illinois State Police said the crash occurred near mile marker 76, just south of the Sesser exit. The overturned truck blocked both northbound lanes of traffic.
The driver sustained minor injuries, and the interstate remained closed for several hours while crews cleaned up the spill. Officials said the applesauce was sprayed off the roadway before reopening.
Rick’s Towing assisted at the scene and shared photos of the cleanup effort.
