Murphysboro Apple Festival kicks off with a 5K

MURPHYSBORO, IL (KBSI)—On Sept. 7, People came together for the Appletime 5K Run/Walk on Main St.

The race is part of the Apple Festival, which Murphysboro has held for over 70 years. It is Southern Illinois’ oldest and largest alcohol-free festival, and more than 45,000 people visit it each year. The festival lasts from Sept. 7-15.
