As vacation season nears, AAA urges to book now
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – It’s that time of the year when families begin deciding where to spend their vacations for spring break and into the summer months.
AAA tour partner, Pleasant Holidays, report bookings for Hawaiian hotels and cruises are more popular this year, as many travelers are opting for warmer weather and beaches.
Nick Chabarria with AAA offers some tips for domestic and international vacationers.
“Triple-A is expecting the cost for spring break travel, and really travel in general, to be higher this year than last year. For example, air fare is most likely to be up 25 percent compared to last year. Hotel rates and popular destinations can be up anywhere from 25-to-30 percent. Certainly, looking ahead to planning travel, book as early as possible. You are more likely to get a better rate and just have better selection in general for what you are looking for,” he said.
For domestic travelers, Chabarria says to check your batteries, engine, and tires prior to hitting the road.
And if your battery is three years or older, be sure and have it checked.
