Authorities arrest wanted man after he locks himself in his Parma home

PARMA, Mo. (KBSI) – A man wanted for domestic assault and probation violation was arrested in Parma Thursday morning.
New Madrid County Sheriff’s deputies assisted the Parma Police Department with a person who had barricaded himself in his home.
Eric Mims was wanted for domestic assault and probation violation.
Deputies say Mims ran from a Parma police officer and locked himself in his home.
New Madrid County Sheriff’s deputies and Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers responded to the home where they tried to negotiate with Mims to surrender.
After several failed attempts to communicate, authorities executed a search warrant on the home. Mims was arrested.
He was taken to the Mississippi County Jail.
The Parma Police Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Lilbourn Fire Department and New Madrid County Ambulance District assisted the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department.
