Authorities investigating after 18 year old shot, died in Scott County

SCOTT COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – Scott County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating after a deadly shooting Tuesday night.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a home around 8:15 p.m. where an 18-year-old man died from a gunshot wound, according to Scott County Sheriff Wes Drury.

Due to the number of possible witnesses at the scene, investigators from Sikeston Department of Public Safety, New Madrid County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control were requested to help conduct interviews.

An autopsy was scheduled for November 22.

Authorities have not released the victim’s identity.
