Authorities investigating after man found with numerous injuries in road near Zeigler

ZEIGLER, Ill. (KBSI) – Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating after a man was found with numerous injuries in a road near Zeigler early Friday morning.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call around 2:20 a.m. on June 21 of a vehicle parked in the roadway on State Highway 149 west of Zeigler.

Sheriff’s deputies and a Zeigler police officer responded and found a person with numerous injuries.

Deputies say the person is a victim of an aggravated battery and robbery.

The Zeigler Police Department, Christopher Police Department, Zeigler Fire Department, Abbott-AMR, Franklin County Emergency Management Agency and Illinois State Police assisted.
