Authorities investigating deadly shooting in Caruthersville

CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. (KBSI) – Authorities are investigating after a deadly shooting in Caruthersville on Monday, March 4.

Caruthersville police officers responded to the area of 61 East Haven on Monday around 7:28 p.m. after receiving a report of shots fired.

Officers were directed to 62 East Haven and found Myreon Carter, 24, of Caruthersville with an apparent gunshot wound. Police say he was unresponsive.

He was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Pemiscot County Sheriff’s Department launched a homicide investigation.
