Baby dies, 2 injured in house fire in Malden

MALDEN, Mo. (KBSI) – An 11-month-old child died in a house fire Monday in Malden. Two other people were injured.

The fire happened at 902 N. Decatur Street, according Malden Department of Public Safety Chief Jeff Mitchell.

A person who lived in the home was injured while getting out of the home. Another person was injured when he/she tried to go into the home to save the child.

Both of the injured were taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into the fire is ongoing.
