Bald eagle not injured, just too full to fly
REPUBLIC, Mo. (KBSI) – Missourians come to the rescue for a bald eagle. Wildlife conservation experts came in contact with America’s national bird.
They believed him to be injured at Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield because he couldn’t fly.
Officials then took the bird for testing to get this bird of prey back in the air, but after x-rays scientists came to the conclusion that the bald eagle wasn’t flying due to injury. He was just too fat.
Images from the x-ray show a raccoon paw in his stomach. Bald eagle diets mostly consist of fish but sometimes they just take what they can get.
Wildlife officials took the eagle back to the park and he took off after digesting his big meal.
