Baptist Health Paducah recognized for excellence in cardiac arrest care
PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Baptist Health Paducah has received the American Heart Association’s Target: Survival quality achievement award for its commitment to treating in-hospital cardiac arrest.
The award recognizes hospitals that have achieved high survival rates for patients who experience cardiac arrest while in the hospital. Baptist Health Paducah’s survival rate places it in the top 40% of all participating hospitals in the United States.
According to the American Heart Association, more than 300,000 adults and children experience in-hospital cardiac arrest each year. Survival rates largely depend on timely medical emergency team response and effective CPR.
“Baptist Health Paducah is committed to improving patient care by focusing on cardiac arrest survival and continuous quality improvement,” said Craig Beavers, Vice President of Operations. “Our goal is to ensure more people in Paducah and surrounding communities can experience longer, healthier lives.”
