Baptist Health Paducah to host prescription drug take back event

FOX23 News at 9 p.m.

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Baptist Health Paducah is partnering with the Paducah Police Department to participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 25, offering a safe and convenient way for community members to dispose of unused or expired medications.

The collection event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ninth Street Church of Christ, located at 715 S. 9th St., Paducah, KY 42003. In addition to the medication drop-off, the Paducah Police Department will host a free community resource fair featuring information and support services available in the area.

“It’s easy to forget about old prescriptions tucked away in a drawer or medicine cabinet,” said Cody Davis with Baptist Health Paducah Community Pharmacy. “Taking a few minutes to clear them out on Take Back Day helps protect your family, prevent misuse, and support a healthier community overall.”

The nationwide initiative aims to raise awareness about the dangers of prescription drug misuse and reduce the risk of accidental poisoning or environmental harm caused by improper disposal.
