Baptist Health Paducah to install weapons detection system
PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Baptist Health Paducah says it will install a weapons detection system at its emergency department entrance starting Aug. 4.
The system is designed to identify weapons without false detections of everyday items. Visitors and patients will not need to remove bags or personal items during the initial screening.
Hospital officials say the system is part of their commitment to maintaining a safe environment. They encourage everyone to report suspicious activity to security or hospital staff.
All weapons, including firearms and bladed items, are prohibited at the hospital. Bags are subject to search, and patients and visitors are asked not to bring prohibited items.
