Baptist Health teaching CPR, childcare skills through Safe Sitter program

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Baptist Health Paducah is offering Safe Sitter babysitting classes for middle school students during June and July.

The classes are open to students in grades six through eight and are designed to teach safety, childcare and basic business skills for students staying home alone, caring for siblings or babysitting.

According to Baptist Health Paducah, students will learn topics including CPR, choking rescue for infants and children, diaper changing and emergency response skills for situations such as severe weather.

Classes will be taught by registered nurses certified as Safe Sitter instructors and will include interactive games and role-playing activities.

One-day classes are scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon on June 16, June 29, July 8 and July 16 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Pre-registration is required due to limited space. The cost is $38 per student.
