Baptist Health to host free heart health screening event in Mayfield

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Baptist Health will host a free cardiovascular screening and education event, Strong Heart, Healthy Lives, on Saturday, Feb. 7, in Mayfield.
The event will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. at the West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative Community Room, 1218 W. Broadway St.
“Heart disease remains one of the leading causes of death, but many risk factors can be managed through early detection, education and healthy lifestyle choices,” said Ashley Parrott, director of operations for Baptist Health Medical Group West.
“Events like this allow us to meet people where they are and provide valuable tools to help them take charge of their heart health.”
The event is open to the public and aims to raise awareness of cardiovascular health while providing access to free heart screenings, educational resources and guidance from health care providers.
Attendees will have access to complimentary cardiovascular screenings, educational presentations focused on heart health, and information on preventive care. Giveaways, heart-healthy snacks and coffee will also be available.
