Bardwell man facing multiple charges after injury crash

BARDWELL, Ky. (KBSI) – A Bardwell man faces multiple charges after a crash in Carlisle County.
Timothy Rudolph, 49, faces charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol 4th or greater, aggravated driving DUI suspended license 3rd or greater offense – aggravated, two counts of assault 1st degree and two counts wanton endangerment 1st degree.
Carlisle County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a one vehicle crash with entrapment in the 1000 block of State Route 1591 in Bardwell on August 14.
First responders found a 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck overturned against an embankment and a small utility trailer that had detached from the pickup.
There were five people in the vehicle at the time of crash.
Three of them were able to get out of the vehicle themselves. Two were still entrapped.
Sheriff’s deputies say the investigation revealed that Rudolph was driving the vehicle.
Chief Deputy Ben Green responded to investigate the crash.
Sheriff’s deputies say Rudolph told Chief Deputy Green that he had been drinking but he was not driving the vehicle. The other people in the vehicle said Rudolph told them to lie to law enforcement and say he was not the driver.
However, all occupants later admitted that Rudolph was the driver.
Two of the passengers were minors who were treated by Carlisle County EMS on scene.
The two that were trapped in the vehicle had to be mechanically extracted from the vehicle. They were taken by Air Evac to out-of-state trauma centers due to the extent of their injuries.
Rudolph’s license was suspended at the time of the crash for two previous DUI’s earlier this year.
Chief Deputy Green requested that Rudolph perform field sobriety tests, and says Rudolph refused.
A search warrant was obtained to collect blood kit for evidentiary purposes.
Rudolph was arrested.
He completed serving a jail sentence earlier this month after he was arrested on two separate occasions during the same week in May of 2024 for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
Rudolph was taken to the Ballard County Jail.
The Carlisle County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Carlisle County EMS, Ballard County EMS, Bardwell City Fire Department, Bardwell Police Department and Air Evac.
