PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Barkley Regional Airport has added a new de-icer truck as it prepares for upcoming United Airlines service operated by SkyWest later this month.
Airport officials said the new truck has twice the capacity of the airport’s current de-icing equipment and will improve winter weather operations. The existing de-icer, which has been used for several seasons, will remain in service alongside the new vehicle.
Officials said the new equipment arrived after a cross-country trip and will help provide faster aircraft turnaround times and more reliable service during cold weather.
The airport said the upgrade is part of broader improvements to support expanded air service and match the capabilities of the recently opened terminal.
