Barricaded subject taken into custody on East Jackson Street

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — Authorities reported a large police presence Monday afternoon in the 500 block of East Jackson Street due to a barricaded subject.

According to an alert issued at 1:22 p.m., the individual was safely taken into custody, and the area has since been cleared.

Officials said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
