PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Bass Pro Shops announced plans to open a new destination retail store in Paducah.
The 70,000-square-foot store will be located at 3470 James Sanders Blvd., adjacent to Kentucky Oaks Mall on the east side of the roadway. The project will be constructed on approximately eight acres and is expected to cost $25 million. The site offers visibility from Interstate 24 and is surrounded by retail and dining establishments.
Mayor George Bray said the project represents a significant development for the city and region.
“Because Bass Pro Shops designs each location to reflect its surroundings, this project will create a true destination—one that draws families, outdoor enthusiasts and visitors from across the region and beyond,” Bray said in a statement.
City Manager Daron Jordan said the store will be the first Bass Pro Shops location in Kentucky built from the ground up.
Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris said the company looks forward to serving outdoor enthusiasts in western Kentucky and across the state.
Site preparation is underway, including demolition of a vacant building. Company officials said the goal is to open the store in late 2026 or early 2027.
Founded in 1972 in Springfield, Missouri, Bass Pro Shops operates 180 locations across North America. The closest existing location to Paducah is in Nashville, Tennessee.
