BELL CITY, Mo., (KBSI) – Bell City Fire Rescue responded Friday morning to a tractor fire in a farm field, with mutual aid from the Advance Fire Department.

Crews were dispatched around 8:51 a.m. after reports of a fully involved tractor fire. Heavy smoke was visible for several miles as firefighters made their way to the scene.

Because of drought conditions, high temperatures and the risk of rapid spread, Bell City requested additional manpower and equipment, including a tanker and brush truck from Advance.

Firefighters contained the blaze to the tractor and a small area surrounding it. No injuries were reported, and all units returned to service after the scene was declared safe.

Officials thanked the Advance Fire Department for its assistance and emphasized the strong cooperation among Stoddard County’s emergency responders.
